Located approximately seven minutes away (by foot) from Pepperclub, Burger & Lobster is one of the many newcomers to the trendy Bree Street district that has taken the restaurant scene by storm. Burger & Lobster’s menu includes their gourmet B&L Burger which consists of a 250g steak patty smothered with two homemade cheeses (a mild white cheddar and an American-style cheddar) served on a freshly baked sesame-seed topped bun with maple bacon, red onion, lettuce, tomato, pickled gherkins and homemade mayonnaise. Their Lobster Roll consists of a Lobster Tail served in a warm toasted brioche bun and dressed in a Japanese mayonnaise. Your taste buds are bound to dance before your order even arrives as Burger & Lobster’s ingredients are what sets them apart given everything is made from scratch.

Conveniently located at the V&A Waterfront and recently named the best burger joint in the Western Cape at the 2016 Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Best Everyday Eateries awards, Gibson’s has a great menu of tried and tested classic American style burgers, along with sliders, sides and other dishes. The burgers, made from pure ground beef and served with a variety of sauce and topping options, include the Philly (plain cheese), the Wharton (cheese burger with mushroom sauce), the Egg (burger with an egg), the Salad (instead of a bun) and even Banting burgers (served with cauli mash and salad). There is also a range of designer or ‘roll’s royce’ burgers for those wanting that extra indulgence.

After the success of Cape Town’s much loved Tiger’s Milk in Muizenberg, this renowned restaurant brand recently opened in the bustling hub of Long Street. One of the crowd favourites from their menu is the Triple Bypass burger which is topped with red onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon and truffle infused mushroom sauce served with your choice of sides. Head over if you’re in the mood for a buzzing ambience accompanied by loud beats and eclectic décor.

Jarryds Expresso Bar + Eatery prides itself in cooking with fresh local and seasonal ingredients that are delivered from the market on a daily basis. Although the restaurant has a separate lunch and dinner menu, both feature truly unique burgers. For lunch, your options include the
Sake Battered Asian Fish Burger which is topped with crimson slaw, cucumber ribbons, sliced radish and wasabi Japanese mayo, or the Jarryds Bondi Burger that boasts a grilled crumbed free range chicken breast, cheddar cheese, shredded iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato and homemade peri-naise. For dinner try out their cheese burger or soft shell crab roll.

This trendy burger restaurant sells burgers with a difference where each patty is filled with cheese and other gourmet ingredients. Each burger is made with 100% locally sourced products and grass-fed organic beef. Some of the unique burgers found on the menu include the Umami BBQ Burger which is served with a Boerekaas cheddar-filled beef patty topped with pickled cabbage, toasted sesame seeds and peanuts slathered in hoisin BBQ sauce and miso mayo. The Brie Street burger – aptly named after the establishment’s location – includes a brie cheese stuffed ostrich patty topped with pickled red onion, wild rocket, mayo and a red wine cranberry reduction.

Last, but certainly not least, Royale Eatery is something of an institution in Cape Town. There is a variety of vegetarian, meat and healthy burger options on offer, both decadent and classic, all accompanied by a selection of sides to choose from. Burgers can be ordered in single or double sizes and highlights from the menu include the Cosa Nostra (sun-dried tomato pesto, roasted veggies and melted mozzarella), Big Bird (ostrich with beet relish and caramelised onion) and Thai Fish (crumbed Thai fish cake with coriander sauce).
