Capetonians are in for a treat this coming Thursday, 2 July at Pepperclub Hotel & Spa as they launch their Christmas in July Winter wine tasting series – complete with live music to ring in the festive cheer!
Not only will guests have the opportunity to sample one of the Cape’s best brands in a lively and festive atmosphere at one of the city’s premier establishments, but also soak up the sweet sounds performed by dynamic duo, Acoustic Element.
Perfectly suited for the wintery weather, the launch of the Christmas in July themed Winter wine tasting series will showcase Diemersfontein Wine & Country Estate’s renowned range of wines, including the original Coffee Chocolate Pinotage.
While sipping on the range, Jody Abel and Callen Petersen from Acoustic Element, armed with their guitar and electric violin, will wow guests with their musical vigour and spunk
Coinciding with the monthly First Thursdays event, which Pepperclub Hotel & Spa is participating in during the winter season, the wine tasting evening on 2 July will run slightly later than the usual, and entertainment will be provided until 9pm. A new bar and tapas menu will also be launched at the first wine tasting evening, and will become a regular feature in Paparazzi Bar & Lounge going forward.
“A highlight for young and old, locals and tourists alike, First Thursdays offers a glimpse of the city from a different perspective. Pepperclub’s intimate wine tasting evenings mean that the viniculture arts will take their rightful place amongst the other mediums displayed as part of First Thursdays,” says Bruce Deneys, Sales and Marketing Director of Pepperclub Hotel & Spa.
No bookings are required and the wine tasting is complimentary. For further information on the wine tasting and participating wine estates, please visit the hotel’s Facebook page or follow the fun on our Twitter page.
Hotel staff and guests were in for double-treat in May when we hosted the K2 Twinswhilst they were in Cape Town for an event.
Well-known for being farmers and models, Charlie and Alex, or more favourably referred to as the K2-Twins, are originally from the small town of Vredendal.
Our foyer was abuzz with excitement as the twins relaxed on our renowned red chairs, better known as our ‘Hot Seats’, situated at the entrance of the hotel, before being whisked to the launch of a new range for Calvin Klein Jeans in South Africa where they modeled the new #mycalvins Denim Series. Their visit to the Mother City wasn’t all business though, and Charlie and Alex were able to squeeze in a massage at our Cayenne Spa – much to the delight of the ladies visiting the spa!
Before departing the next day, they showed their appreciation for the full buffet breakfast at Sinatra’s Restaurant, which didn’t disappoint with a healthy variety of fruits to help them prepare for an entire day in front of the camera
“We all have the power of choice to control our actions and reactions, and with good choices, you can change any situation for the better” – Rajesh Durbal
Pepperclub Hotel & Spa had the pleasure of welcoming US born Rajesh Durbal, a triple amputee athlete, two times ironman record holder, global motivational speaker and founder of LIVE FREE Foundation, back to hotel during the month of March.
Having previously stayed at the hotel in March 2014 while participating in the Cape Town Cycle Tour during his Freedom Tour to Africa tour (See article: Triple amputee, Rajesh Durbal, inspired after riding Argus with local amputees), Rajesh once again visited the Mother City to participate in the race, as well as to debut the documentary of his Freedom Tour to Africa tour, Beyond Boundaries.
Pepperclub Hotel & Spa was honoured to host the red carpet affair and exclusive screening of the documentary nine mountain climbers, six of them physically disabled, that successfully summit the tallest freestanding mountain in the world, Mt. Kilimanjaro
Led by Rajesh Durbal and world renowned neurosurgeon of The Steelers, Dr. Joe Maroon, the Beyond Boundaries documentary details first-hand the experience of the climbers’ preparation, struggles, challenges, and ultimately their success as they reach the top of the summit. Guests at the screening witnessed the team encounter difficult terrain and battle with altitude changes, all the while working as a team, pulling together and using all their resources to make their way through it – needless to say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house at the end of the evening. Following the premier on Saturday, 7 March, Rajesh participated in the 2015 Cape Town Cycle Tour. While a shorter route this year, Rajesh was still happy to be able to take part in the world famous event for the second time.
Rajesh truly is an inspiration to us all and reminds us that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. For more information on his inspirational journey, please visit his website: http://live-free.net
It definitely wasn’t an unlucky Friday the 13th at Pepperclub Hotel & Spa this February when Pepperclub Hotel & Spa hosted some of the world’s top DJs at the official 2015 South African Ultra Music Festival press conference in our exclusive penthouse in the sky.
Our very own Marketing Manager, Daniek Rose, had the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the festival’s elite international DJs such as Dutch musical titans Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix and Oliver Heldens.
Other world renowned DJs present at the press conference included Canadian dance music duo DVBBS and London born English garage duo, Gorgon City. Proudly Capetonian electronic and dance groups, Goldfish and DJ Fresh and Euphonik, known as F.eU, were also present.
Partners for Ultra South Africa 2015, 5FM, also hosted a live outside broadcast with the Forbes and Fix Show, which saw the presenters, Rob Forbes and Fix, as well as their producing team, taking over the hotel’s Grand Palm conferencing venue to interview some of the festival’s headliners.
After an extremely successful 2014 global tour, the Ultra Music Festival is one of the world’s leading electronic dance music festivals to hit our shores. The event took place at the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch located on the city’s West Coast, and saw the thousands flock to attend the supercharged electronic dance music festival.
The team at Pepperclub are thankful to have played a part in the festival preparations!
Pepperclub Hotel & Spa had the pleasure of hosting well-known English global adventurist Louis Cole, a British film-maker and YouTube personality, on 5 January 2015, while he was visiting the Mother City during the African leg of his global tour.
Louis, popular for a daily chronicle of his life and worldwide travels via his Vlog (video blog), Fun for Louis, was joined by German born actress, Nilam Farooq. Together they set out to explore and experience the luxuries of a true five star experience offered at Pepperclub.
While a guest at the hotel, Louis and Nilam had the opportunity to enjoy a personal tour of the hotel’s premises and facilities, including the illustrious penthouse with its panoramic views and rooftop swimming pool – which they later got to take advantage of during a glorious African summer’s day.
Their stay included accommodation in a luxurious suite overlooking beautiful Table Mountain and our cosmopolitan inner city, as well as breakfast at Sinatra’s restaurant.
Please click here to view Louis and Nilam’s first-hand experience of their stay with us, including their 02h30am room service request for cheesecake.
