Now in its 22nd year, the awards are globally known as the “The Oscars of the Travel Industry” and all titles are awarded based on votes from travellers and industry professionals.
Nick Seewer, CEO of Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, says the staff and management at the hotel are thrilled that the hotel continues to be recognised as Africa’s Leading City Hotel as it reinforces their commitment to deliver the best to all guests visiting the hotel. “We are hopeful that our efforts over the past three years will secure us the title of the World’s Leading City Hotel in the global awards ceremony taking place later this year.”
He adds that the new title of South Africa’s Leading Hotel Suite is truly fitting for the Pepperclub’s Penthouse Suite. “Affectionately known as the Penthouse in the Sky, the suite towers over the City and allows guests to soak up the energy and views from the many vantage points offered by the Suite,” says Seewer.
Capetonians are in for a treat this coming Thursday, 2 July at Pepperclub Hotel & Spa as they launch their Christmas in July Winter wine tasting series – complete with live music to ring in the festive cheer!
Not only will guests have the opportunity to sample one of the Cape’s best brands in a lively and festive atmosphere at one of the city’s premier establishments, but also soak up the sweet sounds performed by dynamic duo, Acoustic Element.
Perfectly suited for the wintery weather, the launch of the Christmas in July themed Winter wine tasting series will showcase Diemersfontein Wine & Country Estate’s renowned range of wines, including the original Coffee Chocolate Pinotage.
While sipping on the range, Jody Abel and Callen Petersen from Acoustic Element, armed with their guitar and electric violin, will wow guests with their musical vigour and spunk
Coinciding with the monthly First Thursdays event, which Pepperclub Hotel & Spa is participating in during the winter season, the wine tasting evening on 2 July will run slightly later than the usual, and entertainment will be provided until 9pm. A new bar and tapas menu will also be launched at the first wine tasting evening, and will become a regular feature in Paparazzi Bar & Lounge going forward.
“A highlight for young and old, locals and tourists alike, First Thursdays offers a glimpse of the city from a different perspective. Pepperclub’s intimate wine tasting evenings mean that the viniculture arts will take their rightful place amongst the other mediums displayed as part of First Thursdays,” says Bruce Deneys, Sales and Marketing Director of Pepperclub Hotel & Spa.
No bookings are required and the wine tasting is complimentary. For further information on the wine tasting and participating wine estates, please visit the hotel’s Facebook page or follow the fun on our Twitter page.
Hotel staff and guests were in for double-treat in May when we hosted the K2 Twinswhilst they were in Cape Town for an event.
Well-known for being farmers and models, Charlie and Alex, or more favourably referred to as the K2-Twins, are originally from the small town of Vredendal.
Our foyer was abuzz with excitement as the twins relaxed on our renowned red chairs, better known as our ‘Hot Seats’, situated at the entrance of the hotel, before being whisked to the launch of a new range for Calvin Klein Jeans in South Africa where they modeled the new #mycalvins Denim Series. Their visit to the Mother City wasn’t all business though, and Charlie and Alex were able to squeeze in a massage at our Cayenne Spa – much to the delight of the ladies visiting the spa!
Before departing the next day, they showed their appreciation for the full buffet breakfast at Sinatra’s Restaurant, which didn’t disappoint with a healthy variety of fruits to help them prepare for an entire day in front of the camera
