Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, a five star establishment located in the heart of Cape Town, has announced the appointment of Washiema Adams as the new manager for its in-house Spa, Cayenne Spa.
Cayenne Spa is a hidden gem located on the 8th floor of the hotel, and is a popular sanctuary for guests due to its modern aura and eclectic menu of modern treatments, including full body wellness wraps, body exfoliations, massages and facials – all tailored to sooth the senses and orchestrate complete physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The spa also features a sauna and a fully-equipped gymnasium.
Over the past seven years, Adams has gained a wealth of experience and expertise within the international and local wellness industry. Prior to joining the team as Spa Manager at Cayenne Spa, Adams held the position of Senior Skincare Therapist and Assistant Spa Manager on various cruise ships for leading onboard spa company Steiner Transocean.
Adams, who successfully completed an International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) qualification in Spa Therapy in 2008 at The College of Cape Town, will be responsible for overseeing the management of the spa in terms of its staff, operations and financials, as well as ensuring business objectives and goals are met.
Adams says that she was drawn to Cayenne Spa due to its growing presence in Cape Town. “The spa has become a key asset to the hotel and I am therefore excited to join the team and assist in elevating the spa to new heights, whilst also ensuring that the spa maintains the five star spa experience it has become renowned for.”
Matthew Cornall, General Manager of Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, says that Adams’ experience will ensure the spa continues to strive for the highest standard of excellence. “Washiema possesses a wealth of knowledge in the wellness industry both internationally and locally. That, accompanied with a high level of professionalism and commitment to exceptional quality and service, as well as a drive to stay up to par with international spa standards, makes her a vital asset to our team.”
Cornall adds that spas have become an integral part of the experience for many guests staying at five star hotels. “Over the years, spas have evolved from support facilities to become a key factor which attracts guests to a hotel. The one-on-one time spent during a treatment with a spa professional provides a personal experience unmatched elsewhere within a hotel. In light of this, we are continually investing in Cayenne Spa to ensure our guests have the unforgettable spa experience,” concludes Cornall.
