Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, the reigning title holder of the 2013 Africa’s Leading City Hotel award, has once again been nominated in the same category, as well as Africa’s Leading Hotel Residences, in the 2014 World Travel Awards.
Now in its 21st year, the annual awards were established to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.
According to Nick Seewer, CEO of Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, the hotel is honored to be nominated for this prestige title for the second year running due to the reinforcement it creates. “We aim to uphold the highest level of service to all guests upon each visit, and being nominated again this year reaffirms the hotel’s efforts to deliver premier service and a quality offering.”
Cape Town has also been nominated for Africa’s Leading Destination 2014 in the 2014 World Travel Awards, along with Durban and Johannesburg in South Africa. “Cape Town was awarded Africa’s Leading Destination in 2013, yet sadly missed out on the title of World’s Leading Destination to Dubai. Given the city’s numerous internationally recognised achievements over the past year, we hope Cape Town remains in the running for the world title in order to reinforce the city’s emerging status as one of the world’s top destinations,” says Seewer.
Pepperclub Hotel & Spa has been nominated alongside three other South African hotels for the title of Africa’s Leading City Hotel, namely Hilton Durban, Sandton Sun and The Michaelangelo. Other nominees vying for the title include Kenya’s Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel, Hemingways Nairobi, InterContinental Nairobi and Nairobi Serena Hotel, as well as the Alexandria Four Seasons in Egypt and Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel in Tanzania.
Two other local Cape Town properties have been nominated alongside Pepperclub Hotel & Spa in the Africa’s Leading Hotel Residences 2014 category, including the Taj Cape Town and Cape Royale Luxury Hotel & Spa. The other competing properties include the Hilton Cairo Zamalek Residences and JW Marriott Hotel Cairo in Egypt, Palacina The Residence & The Suites in Kenya and Palmeraie Village in Morocco.
Voting closes on 17 May 2014.
