The Cape Town International Jazz Festival, which takes place 3 - 4 April 2010, has appointed Pepper Club as its official hotel partner for the annual event for the next five years.
The hotel will provide accommodation for a number of VIP guests and performers during the festival. The hotel will also enjoy travel package exclusivity from festival organisers and will host the
official after-party on Saturday night.
"We look forward to hosting both artists and guests at this prestigious event and becoming the
centre of all social and residential activity during the festival," says David Solomon, chairman
and developer of Pepper Club. "The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is recognised as one of
the highlights in Cape Town's cultural calendar and attracts music lovers from all over the world.
It is a perfect fit with Pepper Club, which caters for discerning business and leisure travellers.
The hotel is also in close proximity to many of the venues where events will be held, which means
that guests will never be far away from the action."
With over 32 000 people attending the event last year, Solomon says the Cape Town Jazz Festival has proven to be more than just entertainment and has helped to stimulate a vibrant creative industry
for artists and local musicians to showcase talent and to learn at a range of workshops.
"It also provides a major boost to the city's economy." Last year, the festival created 2 750 jobs. It also contributed R761-million to the national gross domestic product (GDP) and R572-million to
the Western Cape provincial GDP.
